Route 1 · The loop

Ride the 14-mile loop

The New River and Skunk Creek trails plus the Arrowhead Loop in one easy lap. Smooth paths and quiet streets, perfect for couples, families and groups of up to 12.

South to Rio Vista

From the Fletcher Heights trailhead, ride south on the New River Trail to Rio Vista Park and cross the bridge.

Onto the Skunk Creek Trail

Follow Skunk Creek to 75th Ave, go under the bridge, across the wash and past the apartments. Stay on the trail under Union Hills.

Through the neighborhood

Exit onto W McRae Way, turn left on W Julie Dr, then right on 63rd Ave and over the freeway bridge.

Arrowhead Loop home

Left on W Arrowhead Loop, cross at 67th Ave and continue to 71st Ave, straight through Deer Valley. Left on Hillcrest Blvd, take the bike path at the bend and go under the overpass back to the trailhead.

Prefer to keep it simple? Stay on the New River Trail the whole time and turn around whenever you like.

Route 2 · Out & back

Ride 20.8 miles to Park West

A straight shot down the New River Trail with lunch at the turnaround. No streets, no turns, just trail.

South on the New River Trail

From the Fletcher Heights trailhead, ride south on the New River Trail past Rio Vista Park.

On to Northern Ave

Keep cruising south, about 10.4 miles in all, until the trail reaches Northern Ave.

East to Park West

Take the path up to Northern and turn left (east) to Park West. Time for lunch.

Same way home

Ride back north on the New River Trail to the Fletcher Heights trailhead.

Great lunch ride. Park West is right at the turnaround, and Bully Brew is next door.
