They go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating in terms of trails to ride and teaching those not familiar with e-bikes how to ride. I contacted them last minute about a ride for the next day and they were super accommodating and even had a bike trailer for our 20 month old. We ran into a few glitches on two of our rides (no fault of Smitty’s) And the service recovery made us fans and customers for life! We picked up the trail in Granada Park on all of our rides and have had a blast whether we ended up at OHSO brewery, Sprinkles, cupcakes in Scottsdale or just riding around Tempe. We’ve been renting e-bikes from Smitty’s for the past couple of years, and let me tell you, they’ve been a game-changer! They’re super easy to use, the service is top-notch, and the bikes are just awesome. The bikes arrived at our starting point punctually as well as picked up punctually after our 4 hour ride.

Delivery was on schedule well actually they were there early set up and waiting. Orientation of the bikes very complete and had time for questions. Booking was easy,  e-mail instructions for drop off and pick up addressed were clear and accurate. We would use them again.

Tannus Armour inserts stop about 90% of punctures, with 15mm of protection under the tread and 2mm on the sidewalls. They're a great fit for e-bikes.

E-bike service questions

How does mobile e-bike service work?

Fill out our service request form and we'll contact you to confirm the details and set a pickup time. We pick up your bike from your home or workplace, service it in our shop, and deliver it back to you. Most repairs are done in 1–3 business days.

Do you service all e-bike brands?

We're a service partner for Rad Power Bikes, Velotric, Lectric, Juiced, Monarch and Vtuvia, and we work on many other brands, including Blix, Tamobyke, Himiway, Aventon and Jetson. Some brands with limited parts availability or manufacturer support, like Super73 and Speedrid, may be declined depending on the repair. We look at each bike individually and will always be upfront with you before taking a job.

How much does e-bike repair cost?

It depends on the work. Our most common services are listed in the price list above. Tune-ups are $85 (Basic), $125 (Tune Up+) or $175 (Full Service). If we don't know what's wrong yet, diagnosis is $60. Every repair is itemized, so you always know what you're paying for, with no surprise charges.

Do you charge for estimates?

For common jobs like tune-ups, brake bleeds and tire replacements, we can give you a general price over the phone. If the problem isn't clear, we start with a $60 diagnosis. Once we've looked the bike over, we'll walk you through exactly what's needed and what it will cost before any work begins.

What's the turnaround time for repairs?

Most repairs are done in 1–3 business days. Jobs that need parts ordered can take longer. We'll give you an honest timeline when we assess your bike.

Can you fix my e-bike if I don't know what's wrong with it?

Yes. Our $60 diagnosis is made for exactly that. We'll find the problem and walk you through what needs to be done.

Do you service bikes outside of Phoenix?

We serve the greater Phoenix area with a focus on the West Valley, including Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale, Tempe, Buckeye, Surprise, Sun City and Goodyear. We don't currently service the East Valley (Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa). Pickup and delivery is $50 under 15 miles from our shop, and $65 or more over 15 miles depending on distance.

Do you service scooters?

Yes, on a limited basis. We handle flat tire repairs and solid tire installs on scooters. Because there are so many scooter brands and models, we don't do electrical diagnosis or repairs on them. Parts sourcing and compatibility are too inconsistent to do it right. If you've got a flat, we've got you covered.

Do you work on e-motos?

Yes, on a limited basis. We handle tire changes, chain tension, jackshaft changes, belt replacements and SuperBee brake installs. We prefer that you provide the parts. We bleed the mineral-oil brakes found on most e-bikes, but we don't bleed DOT 4 motorcycle-style brakes. Not sure if we can help with your bike? Give us a call.

Is my e-bike too old or cheap to be worth servicing?

If a repair is going to cost more than the bike is worth, we'll tell you honestly. We won't take your money for a job that doesn't make sense. That said, most e-bikes, even budget ones, are well worth keeping up with regular tune-ups.
